Siem Reap is thriving. This town is Cambodia’s number one tourism destination thanks to the grand temples of the Angkorian era sitting right on its doorstep. Everyone who arrives is here to see Angkor Wat, but the town’s burgeoning popularity with travelers has led to a whole host of other attractions and activities opening up, which provides some downtime from temple-hopping. Siem Reap itself isn’t the prettiest town but it has a lively café and restaurant scene that is beginning to compete with Phnom Penh for cosmopolitan flair, and the central city area is home to some of the best souvenir shopping you’ll find in the country with both market stalls for great bargains and a whole host of plush boutiques for special gifts.

Itinerary

Day 1ARRIVAL-SIEM REAP

Welcome to Cambodia! Our private vehicle will wait and pick you up at Siem Reap International
Airport, then transfer to hotel for check in. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap!

Day 2SIEM REAP - ANGKOR TEMPLE TOURS (B, D)

Breakfast in hotel In the morning, visit the South Gate (with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk), the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century), Bayon temple (unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara), Baphuon recently re-opened after years of restoration), the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.
In the afternoon, visit the most famous of all the temples on plain of Angkor, Angkor Wat, the temple complex
covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodia flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Angkor Wat’s five towers symbolize Meru’s five peaks – the enclosed wall represents the mountains at the edge of the world and the surrounding moat, the ocean beyond. Sunset at Angkor Wat for countryside view. Dinner will be served at local restaurant with classical/Apsara dance show overnight at hotel in Siem Reap

Day 3SIEM REAP - DEPARTURE (B)

Breakfast in hotel in the morning before transferring to the airport for catching your international flight.
